A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a mistake. The downside of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of unsolicited messages, but this issue can be fixed by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward incoming emails to a 3rd-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
If you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all feature for any email mailbox that you create under the domain name. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section offers quite a few features, but it’s very easy to use, so setting up a catch-all mailbox takes just one single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have created will be shown in this section alphabetically and you will just need to click the "Catch-all" button for the specific email address. Our system will notify you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or pick another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as simple and takes yet another mouse click on the very same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
A catch-all address can be set up with a few clicks of the mouse in case you have a semi-dedicated hosting with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed through our custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to create mailboxes with any domain hosted here. To activate the catch-all option for a particular mailbox, you’ll have to click on the logo with the same name, which will be to the right of each email address. Disabling this option can be achieved in the same fashion and will not require more than one click either. If the catch-all functionality has already been enabled for a given domain name, you will get a warning text message. The same is valid if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never deactivate or change anything automatically.
